Some consumers choose to participate in classes offered, while others experiment by playing computer games, drawing pictures, writing letters or chatting, each at their own individual pace during the open lab hours. Whether consumers eventually obtain employment, research their illness, assist other consumers or just communicate via e-mail, their lives are significantly changed by joining the technology revolution.
BASIC SKILLS LEVEL
Computer Orientation:
Use of mouse, keyboard, opening & closing programs, saving files, using disks & CDs

INTERMEDIATE SKILLS LEVEL
Typing
Using the Internet & E-mail
Introduction to Microsoft Office and Word Processing
Business Correspondence
Optional Newsletter Development

ADVANCED LEVEL
Using Microsoft Excel & Access:
Data entry, analysis, charting & organization
Resume Development
Job Search skills

A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon the completion of each level.
8 networked personal computers with up-to-date software, internet access, digital photography capabilities, a laser printer, color printer and scanner are available.

Having access to technology contributes to individuals’ self-worth & self-confidence.

Over one hundred consumers have trained in the Our Space Computer Lab since its inception, and ten or more have obtained employment or volunteer positions.
