At Our Space, Inc., we believe recovery is not linear. It is a personal, self-directed journey shaped by choice, connection, empowerment, and community. Our Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program is a structured, recovery-oriented mental health service designed for adults who are actively working toward personal goals.

CCS services are person-centered, trauma-informed, and authorized through an individualized Plan of Care, ensuring that supports are meaningful, intentional, and aligned with each participant’s recovery goals.

What Is CCS?

Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) is a Wisconsin Medicaid–funded mental health program that provides planned, documented, and goal-focused services. CCS is different from open community programs because it requires enrollment and active participation in recovery planning.

CCS is not a drop-in service. While some CCS groups take place during Drop-In Center hours, CCS participation always requires:

  • CCS enrollment

  • An approved Plan of Care

  • Authorization for each service

What We Offer

Our CCS services support individuals in building skills, increasing insight, and strengthening daily functioning in alignment with their personal recovery goals.

Our Space offers CCS peer support groups in two formats, depending on the setting and level of structure. All CCS groups take place during Drop-In Center hours; however, the services provided within the group are distinctly CCS services.

Some groups are integrated into the shared Drop-In environment while maintaining a clear CCS service structure and documentation. In addition, we offer CCS-only groups that are scheduled specifically for enrolled CCS members and provide a more structured, closed-group format.

Weekday CCS groups provide structured, skill-based support focused on:

  • Building emotional regulation and practical coping strategies for everyday challenges

  • Strengthening communication and interpersonal effectiveness

  • Developing confidence and self-advocacy skills

  • Improving problem-solving abilities and independent living skills

  • Encouraging creative expression and identity exploration

  • Fostering meaningful community connection and a sense of belonging

  • Supporting harm reduction approaches that promote safety and wellness

Drop-In–Integrated CCS Groups

  • CCS enrollment and Plan of Care authorization are required

  • Attendance is documented as a CCS service

  • Participation in Drop-In Center activities is not required but is held with drop-in center participates.

CCS-Only Groups

These are scheduled groups specifically for CCS members only.

  • CCS enrollment required

  • Closed structure

  • Separate from Drop-In Center participation

  • Designed for focused, goal-oriented recovery work

If a person is attending a CCS group—regardless of location—they must be enrolled in CCS and authorized in their Plan of Care.

Peer Support

Peer support is at the heart of our program. Certified Peer Specialists walk alongside participants, offering one-on-one support grounded in lived experience, mutuality, and genuine human connection. Through shared understanding, grounding practices, and practical wellness tools, peers help individuals make sense of their journeys, rediscover their strengths, and build hope for what’s possible.

This approach honors the whole person — mind, body, emotions, relationships, and community. Rather than defining wellness for someone, we create space for each individual to explore what recovery means to them and to move forward with confidence, self-advocacy, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Our Philosophy

At Our Space, Inc., recovery is empowered through choice, supported through connection, and nurtured through community. Our CCS program offers a space where participants can explore, heal, and grow with dignity and where every voice matters.
